TRITALO SULLA COPERTINA DI ARCHITETTURA-ITALIANA DEL 07|06|2017. L’intervento nasce dalla trasformazione di una boutique e si inserisce in uno spazio particolarmente contenuto – 38 metri quadrati distribuiti in lunghezza – reso speciale dallo svelamento, durante i lavori di demolizione, di due volte affrescate della fine del diciannovesimo secolo, all’interno di un palazzo nel cuore di Palermo. L’eliminazione di una serie di controsoffittature stratificate nel tempo ha permesso di includere nel progetto un elemento inatteso e spettacolare come gli affreschi, che ora sono perfettamente visibili e caratterizzano Tritalo.TRITALO ON THE COVER OF ARCHITETTURA-ITALIANA, 07|06|2017. The project arises from the transformation of a boutique and occupies a particularly compact space — 38 square meters distributed lengthwise — made special by the unveiling, during demolition work, of two late-nineteenth-century frescoed vaults, inside a building in the heart of Palermo. The removal of a series of false ceilings layered over time made it possible to include in the project an unexpected and spectacular element such as the frescoes, which are now perfectly visible and characterize Tritalo.

Data la superficie ristretta e al contrario l’altezza notevole del locale, è stata inserita una struttura che contenesse tutti i servizi – il bancone, la cucina, oltre ai bagni privati e pubblici – e che non interferisse con i soffitti voltati, così da sfruttare al meglio lo spazio ed esaltarne l’unicità. Per conferire calda unitarietà all’ambiente, insieme alla committente, è stato inserito il ferro con finitura golden rose, che diventa inconfondibile cifra progettuale. Il progetto è stato sviluppato secondo le esigenze del cliente, volendo differenziarlo formalmente dallo stile industriale di molti bistrot, attraverso un preciso carattere materico.Given the restricted floor area and, on the contrary, the considerable height of the venue, a structure was inserted to contain all the services — the counter, the kitchen, as well as the private and public restrooms — that would not interfere with the vaulted ceilings, so as to make the best use of the space and enhance its uniqueness. To give the room a warm unity, together with the client, iron with a golden rose finish was introduced, becoming the unmistakable design signature. The project was developed according to the client's needs, aiming to differentiate it formally from the industrial style of many bistros, through a precise material character.

Il volume è reso leggero dalla struttura aperta e sospesa che definisce il bancone, illuminato dall’alto da semplici lampadine appese. La parte inferiore in legno posato con rivestimento a spina di pesce e verniciato bianco enfatizza la luminosità quasi abbagliante del locale; il pavimento in gres porcellanato grigio è stato scelto per differenziare cromaticamente il volume servizi. Il ferro golden rose è insieme la materia e la sfumatura di ogni dettaglio del progetto: ne definisce la geometria, riveste il piano del bancone e dell’ulteriore appoggio ad esso simmetrico che affaccia sulla vetrina, e diventa tubolare poggiapiedi, oltre a tornare nei lampadari sferici e nelle maniglie dei bagni; semplici sgabelli in ferro bianco fungono da sedute.The volume is made light by the open, suspended structure that defines the counter, lit from above by simple hanging bulbs. The lower part, in wood laid in a herringbone pattern and painted white, emphasizes the almost dazzling brightness of the venue; the grey porcelain stoneware floor was chosen to chromatically differentiate the services volume. Golden rose iron is both the material and the shade of every detail of the project: it defines its geometry, clads the surface of the counter and of the further symmetrical support facing the shop window, and becomes a tubular footrest, as well as returning in the spherical chandeliers and the bathroom handles; simple white iron stools serve as seating.
