In response to the client's request to make the most of the small space, providing for both service and sales, the project for Enoteca Zangaloro concentrates its character into 22 sqm: an intimate venue, with a street-facing front, where one can buy and taste the products on offer. The choice of few selected materials – dark wood as cladding for walls and ceiling, and grey stoneware for the floor – is able to create chromatic continuity, amplifying the space; iron, finally, highlights the functional elements of the venue. Thanks to metal grilles, the counter can expand into support surfaces for service; above it, the iron element becomes a hooking system that allows the arrangement of wine glasses, also serving as display space. Alongside this volume sits that of the service areas (storage and restrooms), distinguished from the former by color but tied to it by the iron grating.”
