Un Monumento Riportato in Vita: Celebrando lo Splendore di Ecclesia. Immerso nell’incantevole cuore del centro storico di Alcamo, si trova un vero tesoro architettonico con un passato venerabile. Le mura consunte di una chiesa del XVI secolo, oggi sconsacrata, hanno dato vita a un notevole progetto di ristrutturazione che mette abilmente in mostra e reinterpreta la sua essenza storica in modo avanguardistico.A Monument Brought Back to Life: Celebrating the Splendor of Ecclesia. Nestled in the enchanting heart of Alcamo's historic center lies a true architectural treasure with a venerable past. The worn walls of a 16th-century church, now deconsecrated, have given rise to a remarkable renovation project that skillfully showcases and reinterprets its historical essence in an avant-garde way.
Concepito nel vuoto, un telaio in cemento armato prende forma, adornato da un pilastro centrale che divide meticolosamente i piani in quattro distinti spazi. La sfida presentata al nostro team di progettazione era trasformare questo spazio in un ufficio contemporaneo, permeato da un’abbondante illuminazione naturale che avvolge ogni angolo. Per perseguire questa visione, abbiamo intrapreso un’impresa audace: rimuovere uno dei soffitti, sfruttare l’altezza a doppio volume e introdurre un lucernario celestiale che diffonde delicatamente la luce in tutto l’edificio. Internamente, le partizioni trasparenti dominano, permettendo alla luce di danzare e favorire un flusso armonioso.Conceived in the void, a reinforced-concrete frame takes shape, adorned by a central pillar that meticulously divides the floors into four distinct spaces. The challenge presented to our design team was to transform this space into a contemporary office, permeated by abundant natural light that wraps every corner. To pursue this vision, we undertook a bold endeavor: removing one of the ceilings, exploiting the double-height volume, and introducing a celestial skylight that gently diffuses light throughout the building. Internally, transparent partitions prevail, allowing light to dance and fostering a harmonious flow.
Rendere omaggio ai preziosi resti e ricordi di questa terra sacra è stata una componente fondamentale della nostra filosofia di progettazione. La giustapposizione della maestosa muratura dell’antica chiesa e la struttura contemporanea crea un affascinante dialogo tra epoche passate e presente. Il culmine dei nostri sforzi ha prodotto una fusione armoniosa tra storia e modernità, in cui la luminosità permea ogni angolo, coltivando un’atmosfera invitante e vibrante.Paying homage to the precious remains and memories of this sacred ground was a fundamental component of our design philosophy. The juxtaposition of the majestic masonry of the ancient church and the contemporary structure creates a fascinating dialogue between past eras and the present. The culmination of our efforts produced a harmonious fusion of history and modernity, in which brightness permeates every corner, cultivating an inviting and vibrant atmosphere.
